Lady Gaga Releasing ‘Harlequin’ On Friday, Companion Album To ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’

Lady Gaga made a surprise album announcement on Instagram on Tuesday (September 24), revealing that she is releasing a new record, Harlequin, that is due out on Friday, September 27. Gaga disclosed that her forthcoming 13-track collection will be, “A companion album to Joker: Folie à Deux,” the Todd Phillips-directed film starring the pop superstar alongside Joaquin Phoenix which opens on October 4. Harlequin features Gaga’s renditions of classic jazz standards like “Oh, When the Saints,” which was famously performed by Louis Armstrong in 1938, and “Get Happy,” which Judy Garland turned into a hit back in 1950. Gaga also shared the cover art for Harlequin in the post, which features the singer in character as Harley Quinn, standing in a shower while wearing a life jacket. Gaga recorded Harlequin earlier this year at Rick Rubin’s Shangri-La studio in Malibu. (Rolling Stone)
